Advisory: The series 340.x of NVidia graphics drivers (GeForce 8, 9, etc.) was updated to v340.107. This update brings a few bug fixes and improves compatibility with kernel 4.15+. In addition, initrd will no longer be rebuilt when the driver is being installed or removed: rebuilding is not needed for generic (non-hostonly) initrds. Another significant change is that nvidia-uvm kernel module is no longer built by default and CUDA may not work in some cases as a result: NVidia does not support nvidia-uvm in 340.x with the newer kernels anymore. Build lists: https://abf.io/build_lists/2937826 https://abf.io/build_lists/2937827 Details from upstream: Changes since v340.104: * v340.106: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1028805/ * v340.107: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1036391/ Notes: CUDA may stop working with nvidia340 (I doubt someone cares about that but still). In the past, nvidia-uvm kernel module was used in such scenarios but it is no longer supported by NVidia in this driver series. NVidia claims that the hardware nvidia-uvm was used for is supported by the newer drivers, e.g., 390.x series. The update is sent to expanded testing **************************************** nvidia340-340.107-1 https://abf.io/build_lists/2937826 https://abf.io/build_lists/2937827 ************************** Advisory ************************** Upstream update to v340.107 + a few more changes. ************************************************************** QA Verified |
