Ctrl-F1
FOR OLD KERNEL Boot process is frozen on the such stage - see attach Ctrl-F12 and Ctrl-F1 I attached the output of rpm -qa | grep kernel. FOR NEW KERNEL kdm is starting, cursor is blinking. But I have no reaction for any operations with keyboard and touchpad ON A NEW KERNEL (additional information). If I use multi-user.target instead of graphical.target I can to boot correctly in text mode. After running startx KDE session is starting, but keyboard and touchpad not functional. I think I have some misconfiguration for keyboard and mouse for graphical mode with new kernel. P.S. I could not to mount another logical disk with NTFS. As I understand it maybe incorrect updating kernel packages. khmmmm I see that I have such situation on the may (some month ago). But I could not understand how I could update kernel yesterday? I have strange situation. As I have unworking system I have done such steps: 1. Delete kernel 3.8.12 2. execute urpm-reposync 3. execute urpmi --auto-update And I have no packages of 3.8.12 kernel at all. I use yandex mirror Now I have only 3.6.10 kernel on my system Graphical mode is not working urpmq kernel- -a [root@freshx32 cache]# urpmq kernel -a abrt-addon-kerneloops fortune-kernelnewbies kernel-desktop-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-desktop-devel-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-desktop-devel-latest kernel-desktop-latest kernel-doc kernel-firmware kernel-firmware-extra kernel-headers kernel-linus-3.4.19-1rosa kernel-linus-devel-3.4.19-1rosa kernel-linus-devel-latest kernel-linus-doc kernel-linus-latest kernel-linus-source-3.4.19-1rosa kernel-linus-source-latest kernel-nrj-desktop-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-nrj-desktop-3.6.10-1rosa kernel-nrj-desktop-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-nrj-desktop-devel-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-nrj-desktop-devel-3.6.10-1rosa kernel-nrj-desktop-devel-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-nrj-desktop-devel-latest kernel-nrj-desktop-latest kernel-nrj-laptop-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-nrj-laptop-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-nrj-laptop-devel-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-nrj-laptop-devel-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-nrj-laptop-devel-latest kernel-nrj-laptop-latest kernel-nrj-netbook-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-nrj-netbook-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-nrj-netbook-devel-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-nrj-netbook-devel-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-nrj-netbook-devel-latest kernel-nrj-netbook-latest kernel-nrj-realtime-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-nrj-realtime-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-nrj-realtime-devel-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-nrj-realtime-devel-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-nrj-realtime-devel-latest kernel-nrj-realtime-latest kernel-rt kernel-rt-debuginfo kernel-rt-devel kernel-rt-source kernel-server-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-server-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-server-devel-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-server-devel-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-server-devel-latest kernel-server-latest kernel-source-3.10.9-1rosa kernel-source-3.6.10-1rosa kernel-source-3.8.12-2rosa kernel-source-latest kerneloops lib64kplatokernel10 lib64kplatokernel11 libreport-plugin-kerneloops texlive-l3kernel [root@freshx32 cache]# You need wait new fglrx driver appearing in repo - 13.200-5. Created attachment 1883 [details] dmesg Description of problem: I have installed ROSA 2012.1 Fresh x64 on HP ProBook 6465b. After installing the update, including a new kernel I have no possibility to use the graphical mode. On a new kernel I see that proprietary video driver was not installed and the boot process stuck before reaching the KDM. With XFdrake I have installed the driver, and the boot process gos on. But after starting KDM when I have to enter password the system hangs tightly. On old kernel, despite the proprietary driver installed system, boot process stuck before reaching the KDM, stopping in the text. Here is the diagnostic conclusions of commands for the old kernel Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
