Maven is so out of date on Rosa 2016.1 it will not compile Java JAR applications, failing with:
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-compiler-plugin:3.8.0:compile (default-compile) on project calinject: Fatal error compiling: invalid target release: 14 -> [Help 1]
