Description Eugene Sobolev 2012-10-08 14:11:42 MSD
Description of problem:

SIM instant messenger. http://www.sim-im.org/
Latest version 0.9.5: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sim-im.berlios/files/

Would it be possible to package it for ROSA Marathon 2012?
Comment 1 Denis Silakov 2012-10-08 14:43:55 MSD
I would consider sim to be dead for years. No bug/security fixes, no new functionality. What is the need for it?

I have also managed to use sim ~5 years ago, but then switched to kopete.

sample: ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/fedora/linux/development/rawhide/x86_64/os/Packages/s/sim-0.9.5-0.30.20091129svn3078rev.fc19.i686.rpm

I want use MDC (http://bugs.rosalinux.ru/show_bug.cgi?id=882), but until last frisay used SIM.. =) My current dialogs base in SIM. I'm not offended failure.

Comment 4 Eugene Sobolev 2012-10-09 16:39:30 MSD
Hmm.. I don't see buildrpm from repositories.. 8|
Comment 5 Denis Silakov 2012-10-09 16:40:42 MSD
Yes, the primary task is to create a spec file for ROSA:)
Comment 6 Alexander Khryukin 2012-12-24 15:38:22 MSK
Sim-im requires qt3+ last update was in 2009 year.
Comment 7 Denis Silakov 2012-12-25 09:23:35 MSK
The final verdict for now is that sim has been unsupported for a long time and uses old Qt3 libraries (that are also not supported by upstream for years). So we won't build sim (until it is resurrected - who knows what can happen in future?)
