Description Rolf Pedersen 2017-02-17 22:09:09 MSK
I use vlc to "play" a usb-connected Logitech webcam C270 since last September. Since this Wednesday, vlc loads the camera v4l2 video device without complaint but the screen is black. I tested the camera on a Mageia 5 installation and it works in vlc on that machine.

Guessing it might be a recent update, I compared

rpm -qa --last

for that update on Wednesday with

rpm -q --requires vlc

Finding the lib64vdpau_va_gl1 candidate, I did

sudo urpmi --downgrade http://mirror.rosalab.ru/rosa/rosa2014.1/repository/x86_64/media/main/release/lib64vdpau_va_gl1-0.3.4-1-rosa2014.1.x86_64.rpm

and the webcam immediately began to work as before on

ROSA Desktop Fresh R8 release 2014.1 for x86_64

Thanks.
