Description Eugene Shatokhin 2015-04-29 15:37:09 MSD
We need the driver for RTL8812AU WiFi chips from Realtek. At the time of this writing, the driver is not included in the upstream kernel, up to version 4.1-rc1 inclusive.

One of the devices with that chip:

We have the driver in dkms-rtl8812au package (in Contrib) now. The name of the driver is "rtl8812au".

Just in case, it is recommeded to install the driver first and connect the device only after that. Rumors have it, the device might not work properly otherwise. Haven't checked it myself though.

By the way, the current version of dkms-rtl8812au (0.2-0.ab1ec549.1) may not build on kernel 4.0.x. Looks like the upstream developers are working on it.

For our official kernel (3.14.x at the moment), it should build OK.
