Description Shalok Shalom 2015-04-20 18:26:31 MSD
Display turns brightnes complete off, when the power cable is pluged in.
I am able to recover the brightnes with the fn shortcut keys.

By default, the brightnes recover, when i unplug the power cable again.

When i disable the brightnes control in the KCM,
the brightnes do not recover, when i unplug the power cable.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

3.18.11 and 3.18.10

How reproducible:

Always, both with nrj-notebook 3.18.11 and nrj-desktop 3.18.10

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install kernel-nrj-desktop/notebook and ---"--- devel
2. Restart
3. Plug in the power cable.

hw-probe: http://hw.rosalinux.ru/index.php?probe=5403694457

The brightness control keys are changes: the key to reduce the brightness increase it and vice versa.

Other our users encountered similar issues with display brightness as well. Seems to be specific to kernel 3.18.x so far. We are investigating what is going on.

Please add the following kernel options at boot:
    drm.debug=0x06 ignore_loglevel log_buf_len=16M
then work with the system as usual and wait till the problem happens.

After that, please collect the output of 'journalctl -ab' (as root) and 'dmesg' and attach it here, may be in archives if the logs are too large.

It may shed some light on what happens to the graphics subsystem on that particular machine.

Sorry, we overwrite the OS with another Distro, no brightness issue there with 3.18 and 3.19. I hope this and the hw-probe help a lil bit. :)
