bug report tool contents, lspci, etc.

Updates were announced by the applet and I chose to install. Many of the updates seemed to complete successfully and, then, the update applet crashed.

ROSA Bug Report Tool was on the screen. I added a note to the 'what were you doing' box and pressed 'Report' button. Nothing seemed to happen so I pressed it a few more times.

Output of 'tailf /var/log/messages' while the report button is pressed is included in the attached file.

Contents of the Bug Report Tool and some other information are in the attached text file.

At the end, update applet shows updates available and there is one package lxde-control-center
However, selecting to update gives the following message:

The following 2 packages are going to be installed:

- lxde-control-center-0.0.12-1-rosa2012.1.noarch
- lxde-control-center-0.0.12-1-rosa2012.1.noarch

2.3MB of additional disk space will be used.

871KB of packages will be retrieved.

Is it ok to continue?

And OK results in a crash, no crash reporter, and a new report from the applet that this package is available to update.

urpmi lxde-control-center

installs the update and update applet is empty.

removing package drakconf-legacy-12.19.2-6.noarch

I had just installed drakconf-legacy as I wanted to use the nfs add shares feature and don't know where else to do that. That mission was completed successfully, for the time being; I anticipate wanting to add more shares.

However, it appears some conflict with lxde-control-center caused it to be removed.

[rolf@2012 ~]$ rpm -qa|grep drakconf
drakconf-icons-12.19.2-4-rosa2012.1.noarch
drakconf-kde4-2012.1-3-rosa2012.1.x86_64
Comment 2 Denis Silakov 2014-09-08 21:06:19 MSD
Original author of lxde-control-center wanted to completely replace old drakconf tools and explicitly specified that this package obsoletes drakconf-legacy.

The initial report is really interesting, should investigate it further.

Bug reporting tools was fixing some time ago, so finally closing.
