Description ra oeai 2013-10-27 15:55:58 MSK
drakrpm is not searching through descriptions of programs.
the only similar parameter is regualr expression and full names, but it is not searching for some words that can be in file description or sometimes it is necessary to find bin that package provides, file descriptions available only after downloading more data for this package, while this is a main part of description, actually text based - so can give more search abilities.

Rpmdrake can search in descriptions, but this feature is hard to find/activate.

Just click on the magnifying glass icon near the search field - you will be provided with a set of options, search "in package descriptions" will be among them.

But I agree that this is very hard to find. This is a (historical) design failure of Rpmdrake GUI, we'll move this option to some more obvious place.

yes, thanks, maybe in parameters menu
i've been clicking clean button, since it was highlighted, didn't know it is working like that, some popups maybe.
and as for file-search
there's a little difference with files-provided (via spec provide) and file-tree, that loads after package pre-caching, this file-tree could be imported earlier, but this is just a suggestion, thanks for tip.
