Already done some time ago :-) Package kdeconnect in Contrib/Updates.

Oups sorry for the mismatch ;)

I'm testing KDE Connect with an Android Ice Cream Sandwich Smartphone

I can well see notifications about incoming calls but I don't see the others functionnalities like
- Battery state.
- SMS notification is a simple download icon with no text
- No notification of new mail incoming on the mobile

Do you have any usefulls informations on this ?

I guess Battery state support requires special patch to kdelibs or kde-workspace, we don't have it yet (maybe I'll build KDE 4.11.2 with it if I don't forget).

Don't know about the rest, maybe you should ask in upstream? My Android device is JXD S5300 (Android-based gaming console) so I cannot debug calls/SMS/etc functions myself.

Well, I decided to do it now. So if you have kde4_backports repository enabled, you'll get patched kdelibs4 in updates :-)

Ok I'm ready to make some testing but whereas I'm using ROSA Fresh, how can I enable kde4_backports repository ?

I guess this should help:

http://mib.pianetalinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3885

It's known to work well already but I'm waiting for 4.11.2 release anyway to pass it to QA and then to build for Main/Updates.

Ok I've updated my ROSA Fresh under VirtualBox to KDE 4.11.1 (my official ROSA Fresh on the desktop waits for official update)

Currently, I don't see real changes with my last tests with KDE 4.10.5. Is the special kdelibs patch already present in the repo ?

Yes, it's added in kdelibs4-4.11.1-2:

I found that battery support was disabled in kdeconnect (as well as filetransfer):

================
cat kdeconnect-kde-0.1/kded/plugins/CMakeLists.txt

add_subdirectory(ping)
add_subdirectory(pausemusic)
add_subdirectory(mpriscontrol)
add_subdirectory(clipboard)
add_subdirectory(telephony)
#add_subdirectory(battery)
#add_subdirectory(filetransfer)
add_subdirectory(notifications)
================

So I enabled battery support in kdeconnect-0.1-2. Please update your system from KDE backports repository again.

But please note that battery support could be disabled because of being broken. So there's a chance that it doesn't work even when enabled.

Ok I've updated kdeconnect but you were right with the battery state. The option is now present but It don't work.
