Description mayavimmer 2013-04-05 11:35:24 MSD
Description of problem:

Drakbug invokes the browser with an URL which includes the entire bug description text, which is obviously too long, resulting in the following browser message:

Request-URI Too Large
The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.

/var/log/messages logs this line:

drakbug[10463]: running: /usr/bin/www-browser http://qa.mandriva.com/enter_bug.cgi?version=2012.1&component=Core%20Packages&classification=Mandriva%20Linux&rep_platform=x86_64&short_desc=MandrivaUpdate%20segfaulted&comment=The%20%22MandrivaUpdate%22%20program%20crashed.%20Drakbug-14.30%20caught%20it.%0A%0AThe%20crash%20happened%20while%20performing%20a%20regular%20update...

...etc... It includes the entire user description text in the command line, beginning with the part I wrote: "The crash happened...".

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

It happened once while another program (MandrivaUpdate) crashed. It will probably happen again.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run a buggy program (MandrivaUpdate in my case)
2. The crash pops up a bug reporting window, suggesting to enter the output of lspcidrake -v in the user description panel. Did just that.
3. The browser starts with the above mentioned URI TOO LARGE error page.

Well, the url is not the only issue, drakbug can't work with ROSA bugzilla at all.

Please don't use drakbug atm. We'll try to either fix it or provide some alternative in future.
