Description emuse 2013-02-03 13:57:02 MSK
Description of problem:
on my system melt cannot recognize video codecs from ffmpeg anymore. This leads to kdenlive not being able to import videos from a large range of codecs.
It might be related to "restricted" version of ffmpeg as well.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

mlt-0.8.8-1-rosa2012.1.x86_64
ffmpeg-1.0.1-2plf-plf2012.1.x86_64
lib64ffmpeg54-1.0.1-2plf-plf2012.1.x86_64
lib64avformats52-0.7.13-2-rosa2012.1.x86_64

How reproducible:

Each of the following exhibit the symptoms

1.
[fkhome@localhost ~]$ melt -query "video_codecs"
# No video codecs - failed to load avformat consumer

2.
launch kdenlive, check startup wizzard. See grayed ffmpeg field
3.
try to play video with "melt foo.MTS" (for example)

My excuses, I hadn't noticed an i586 install of mlt in /usr/lib while my system is x86_86 and has libmlt and libmlt++ in /usr/lib64, too.

I leave the bug as resolved / invalid
